Thank you!

I just wanted to say thank you, to everyone in the course for your participation in last week's workshop! I know that it was tough sometimes, and that you worked really hard. I think you all did a great job, despite hectic schedules and other obstacles. The presentations of your ideas went really well, and we are very satisfied with the result.

The good thing with last week is that you now have taken a huge leap forward in your projects, which will be rewarding for your groups in the long run. Consequently, I want you to continue with your two subjects for now, and try to further develop the ideas that you have presented. On October 19 and 20, we will meet with each group individually and discuss your work. We will get back to you with a more detailed schedule for these days.

See you on Tuesday at the lecture by Anna Swartling, when we will learn more about how to work in project groups. With your experiences so far, you will most likely find this relevant!

Now, I wish you all a nice and relaxing weekend!

About the mini-hackathon Thursday

On Thursday, Oct 8, at 17.00, we invite you to take part in a mini-hackathon at JMK. We think this might be a good opportunity to be able to work together in your groups to finish your workshop tasks. We will provide you with teachers, computers as well as free sandwishes and something to drink.
Stay an hour, two hours, or as long as you need in order to finish. The mini-hackathon will close at 22.00. Welcome!

Some clarifications regarding the workshop week

Here are some clarifications regarding this week with Robb Montgomery, just in case you have questions.

·       We expect you to work in your project groups outside of the lectures with Robb, in order to finish your workshop tasks. Make sure you spend your valuable time wisely.

·       On Friday, you will finish this week’s tasks, and present them (pitch them) to Anna Careborg and to Robb.

·       On Friday, we expect you to present a sketch of your idea/app/solution, not the finished product or solution. We do not expect you to be finished with the whole project on Friday, but to have an idea regarding your project, while using the tools you have been introduced to during this week.

·       Last week, you were given a story, a technology and a group of student colleagues. Use these assets to answer this question: How can we tell this story in the mobile phone (in the future), using this particular technology?

·       Show us a mobile version of a sketch that explains your solution!

·       This week, the focus is on the mobile, and later on in your projects you can use other tools.

·       This week is valuable for KTH students and JMK students alike, since you will learn how to use the mobile for different purposes. This will definitively come in handy later on in the project.

·       Try to be open – at this stage of the course/project there are endless possibilities!

·       On Friday, you will receive feedback from Anna and Robb. This feedback will be useful when continuing with your different projects during the remainder of this course. Take advantage of this feedback!

Schedule for Oct 5-9 (morning/afternoon sessions)

.
Below is the schedule for next week (the workshop sessions at JMK/Stockholm University). It was hard to satisfy everyone's wishes since almost all groups wanted to attend the Monday morning and the Friday afternoon sessions. I do however believe that I managed to satisfy the wishes of each group for four out of the five sessions though.
